Imagine tracking the current location of the every JUTC Buses with an online GPS system

Imagine, no long waiting in line with just the swiping of your smart card

Imagine reserving your seat on a JUTC bus

Imagine transferring money from your credit or debit card to your smart card

All this can be made possible with the new JUTC OSS (Jamaica Urban Transit Company Online Scheduling System)

A team of analysts, including myself from JJAL INNOVATION at NCU came up with this brilliant idea after we were been told to analyze an automated information system, to find out what was the problem with the current system and then come up with an innovative solution for it. Before we begin the project, we went and did some research on other automated and web-based information system. We look closely at the ones that were more innovative. The online banking system (e-commerce) use by the banks in Jamaica and banks around world was seen as an interest system component that was necessary to be implemented in this new system. Also, we look at the student ID card that NCU have. The student ID card serves multiple functions. This ID is use as student identification, debit card and a register as you have to swipe it during chapel session when you start and when you are leaving. All the ideas that we can across and we had were sum together and put into a nut shell.
